Charles Wells achieved the level of fame that most roulette players dream of. Not only did have a song dedicated to his name, he broke the bank at the casino. Unlike other famous roulette players Charles Wells did it over and over again.
Growing up Charles Wells dreamed of breaking the bank at casinos. Many players before him had cleaned out entire tables; this was unusual but not unheard of. Charles on the other hand wanted to clean out the entire casino.
What is interesting about Charles Wells is that this was not only his dream; this had been his dream since he was a young child. He spent his entire life trying to secure the funds, often through nefarious means, in order to attempt to clean out the Monte Carlo.
It was 1891 when Charles Wells made his first attempt to destroy the casino. Charles Wells had lied to several investors claiming he was working on a musical jump rope. In reality though he was merely scamming them so he’d have enough money to gamble.
When Charles Wells arrived at the casino he went a terrific run, he broke the bank twelve times in a row winning over a million francs. This was all done within eleven hours. At one point he won 23 out of 30 straight spins.
Charles Wells was not satisfied with just annihilating the casino once, he returned the following November and did it again. Casinos at this point were curious, and perhaps desperate to figure out how he had done it. They hired several private investigators and they never found out.
The popular song The Man Who Broke The Bank At Monte Carlo was written by Fred Gilbert in April 1892, the song is now a tribute to Charles Wells legendary run. This song was later made famous by the then rising comedian Charles Coborn.
Charles Wells revealed that the secret behind his historic winning sprees was Luck. He was using the Martingale, but that system is a slave to luck as our most systems. The Martingale is particularly famous for eventually ruining anybody who uses it. Charles Wells must have not received the memo, because he tried again and failed miserably losing everything he had. After his dramatic loss he was arrested and sentenced to jail for various crimes. He died a very poor old man. Regardless of the ending many gamblers wish to deal as much damage as Charles Wells did. Although in this day and age those gamblers will most likely be playing online roulette.
Remember that when you play Online Roulette you need to do it at the best casinos using an effective Roulette System that will help you come out on top.
